Abstract

Main equipment of an independent system of the electric steelmaking division of the works on the basis of a combined cycle with metallic charge (scrap) preheating by the exhaust gases of the gas turbine is selected. According to an average flow chart of parallel operation of two electric arc furnaces at the works, we analyzed the operation of the recovery boiler at a variable temperature and a variable composition of recyclable gases entering the boiler after the heating chamber with cold metallic charge. Based on the analysis of the recovery boiler the overall efficiency of an independent power supply system is defined.
