Abstract

This article analyzes research on alloy white iron castings produced with a required set of mechanical, physical and mechanical and special properties. It is demonstrated that research focuses, as a rule, on development of techniques for controlling formation of a required macro- and microstructure of alloys by choosing an optimal composition, preparing melts for casting into molds (melting, refining, modification, casting temperature, high-temperature treatment of melts), and crystallization speed when forming a primary cast structure and secondary phase recrystallization during heat treatment.

Keywords

White cast irons, alloying complex, cooling rate, modification, refining, temperature time treatment of melts, heat treatment, structure, mechanical properties, wearability, heat resistance.
