Abstract
The article gives an analysis of the advantages of wheel dozers, the application of which enhances the efficiency of construction and maintenance of roads in the quarries.
To determine the engine power and operating weight of new models of wheel dozers, it was proposed to use regression dependencies connecting these parameters with the width of their work equipment – the blade.
We analyzed basic parameters of wheel dozers, pro-duced by leading manufacturers (Caterpillar, Komatsu, etc.). By processing of initial information the regression dependencies were obtained, defining relations between the width of wheel dozers blade, power of their engines and operating weight.
The obtained dependencies can be used at forecasting of engine power and operating weight of advanced models of wheel dozers. They are also suitable for quick selection of a wheel dozer model, which is expedient for use in the construction and maintenance of roads in a particular quarry.
