Abstract

The scientists of the Ferrous Metallurgy Department, Institute of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Processing, Nosov MSTU and colleagues from Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai have organized a working group. This group within the Russian-Indian collaboration investigates the possibility of the impact on the process of steel continuous casting billet in order to produce a fine metal structure. The basic methods of external influences on solidified metal in billet in order to improve its quality are described in the article.
